Broker's Comments

It’s easy to see why the Westerly Konsort is such a popular boat. Over 700 were made over a 12 year period and, with a very loyal following, many of their owners have never chosen to swap them for anything else. The owner of this example has happily sailed her for over 20 years and is only selling due to his retirement from sailing.

She had a comprehensive refit in 2014 which included a new Beta engine, new stern gear, new stainless steel fuel tank, new standing rigging, a new fore-hatch and new cooker. I can’t help feeling that all the expensive upgrades required have already been carried out.

Seaworthy and able to cope with heavy weather, the bilge keels enable her to explore creeks and rivers too. A spacious cockpit with deep coamings help to keep you safe and, although light on the helm, she is a surprisingly stiff & stable boat. On this example, the lines lead aft for easy single handed sailing too.

Beamier than her predecessors, she offers one of the largest interiors for this size & era, all with a classic wood finish. Although the galley is quite snug, this vessel has a new up to date and flame safe Nelson cooker.

This would be a safe boat to make a start in and one that you will probably want to keep hold of for a long time. Safe, strong & comfortable with good sailing performance, what more do you want?
